Small Hands… By Abdulkarim Al Badawi – 12 years Old

On May 4-5, 2 organizations called Citizens’ Eyes and Lavender Gate decided to partner up to create an event that lasted 2 days and located in Syndicate of Engineering – Tripoli. It was to boost small businesses ranging from the age of 6 to 20 years old.

The money funded from the project was going to orphan children. From my perspective it was a thoughtful idea that both helps little kids managing businesses and make a smile on the orphans’ faces. It welcomed all kinds of concepts like food, knitting, pottery, art, accessories, gear, sweets, clothes, etc.

It had popular music that was prepared by the amazing teams of volunteers that worked very hard to keep a fun energy. Looking around all the interesting shops and admiring their creations was the highlight of my day! I saw many familiar shops like celi crochet, Stone Tone, and ELEMENT. At around 4:00pm the grand opening took place and I felt astonished watching the ribbon be cut for all the invitees waiting excitedly to enter and look around.

It was a great learning opportunity for the little ones to learn more about social interaction with customers and enhance trading skills. As a person who is very into architectural design, the building that the event was held in, was very appealing to me. A huge appreciation to Sara Succary and Mona Asmar for creating that many people and I will never forget.
